About Indigenous Wilderness Voices”

Indigenous wilderness Voices is a creative and educational program of Conservation Voice, dedicated to amplifying indigenous wisdom and environmental awareness through storytelling, music, dance, drama, and fine arts. We believe that stories connect us to the planet and to one another — they remind us of our shared responsibility to protect life on Earth. Through powerful storytelling and performance, we promote ethical travel, cultural pride, and environmental stewardship among communities and youth. The program brings together filmmakers, poets, dramatists, musicians, visual artists, and conservationists to share authentic narratives that inspire awe and action. Guided by indigenous values, we illuminate the link between culture and conservation, and between art and environmental justice.

OUR STRATEGIC INTERVENTIONS

Community Radio

A community radio platforms gives a voice to people often left out of mainstream media. Community radio strengthens public participation, raises awareness, and supports local storytelling about conservation, development, and culture.

Filmmaking & Documentation

Through film and digital storytelling, we create emotional connections between people and the natural world. Our initiative trains youth and women in filmmaking, editing, and science communication to produce documentaries and short films that advocate for conservation and peace.

Music Studio & Talent Promotion

A fully equipped modern music studio empowers youth and women to produce songs about conservation, peace, and community resilience. Music is a universal language — and through it, our voices will reach the world with messages of hope and harmony.

Bambika na Mazingira Show

A vibrant roadshow that brings art and activism together. Through school visits, church performances, and public concerts, artists express conservation and peace stories that inspire collective responsibility and pride in our natural heritage.

Mazingira Talk

Mazingira Talk is a dialogue platform that brings together opinion leaders, youth, conservationists, and governance experts for deep conversations on environmental stewardship, leadership ethics, and community land governance. It serves as a space for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and collective action — strengthening transparency, accountability, and sustainable land management in community institutions. Through Mazingira Talk, voices of the grassroots meet policy perspectives to shape a more just, informed, and sustainable future.
